We are excited to kick off a new school year with an important schoolwide goal: 95% daily attendance!
Every day at school matters. When students are here and ready to learn, they have more opportunities to grow, learn, connect with friends, and be successful.
To celebrate our students and families for helping us reach this goal, we are setting a special challenge:
Once our school reaches 10 days with at least 95% daily attendance, we will celebrate with a special Lunch on the Lawn for our students AND parents/guardians! 🎉
Parents/guardians will be invited to join their students for lunch on our school grounds. Parents are welcome to bring their own lunch and enjoy this special time with their child.
A Few Things to Know:
As we work toward our goal, here are a few logistics to keep in mind:
We will announce the date for Lunch on the Lawn as soon as we are close to meeting our 10-day goal.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket! We encourage families to bring something comfortable to sit on.
Each student may have up to two guests attend Lunch on the Lawn.
Please note that school lunch will be provided for students only. Adults and other guests are asked to bring their own lunch.
We will send out a pre-registration form for families to complete if they plan to attend. This will help us prepare for the number of guests joining us.
We will keep you updated along the way. When we reach 8 days of 95% attendance, we will send additional information so you know our celebration is getting close!

Thank you for your patience as we continue getting into a routine with morning drop-off. With several new students joining us this year, our procedures are becoming more familiar each day!
When dropping off your child in the morning, please pull forward to the orange-painted area at the end of the sidewalk before stopping. This allows several vehicles to enter the circle at one time instead of stopping early and helps us keep the line moving as quickly as possible.
To make this easier to identify, we will place an orange cone at the end of the orange paint on the sidewalk as a visual reminder of where to pull forward.
Please also have your student ready to exit the vehicle when you reach the drop-off area. Students should have their backpacks ready, say their goodbyes before reaching the drop-off area, and be prepared to open the door and exit quickly when it is their turn.

Here is a reminder about lunch this year!
Dear Vine Grove Elementary Families,
Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we are so excited to welcome our Trojans back! Our staff has worked hard to prepare for an amazing year, and we can't wait to see our students' smiling faces.
A few reminders for tomorrow:
• School doors open at 7:10 a.m.
• Students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:30 a.m.
• Tomorrow is an early dismissal day. Both car riders and bus riders will dismiss one hour earlier than our regular dismissal time.
• If you are new to Vine Grove Elementary and your child is a car rider, morning drop-off takes place at the back of the school near the playground. Our staff will be there to help guide you through the drop-off line.
• Please be patient during arrival and dismissal as everyone gets back into the routine. Following our traffic procedures will help keep all students safe.
We know the first day brings a mix of excitement and nerves, but our teachers and staff are ready to make every child feel welcome. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and wonderful memories.

The start of another exciting school year is just around the corner, and I wanted to share a few important dates and updates with you! 📅 Trojan Fest Wednesday, July 23 | 5:00–7:00 PM North Hardin High School Join us for an evening of fun with our community partners! There will be inflatables, games, a photo booth, food trucks, and much more. We hope to see your family there! 🏫 Open House Monday, July 27 | 5:30–7:00 PM This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, and get excited for the new school year. 🎉 First Day of School Wednesday, August 6 Our doors open at 7:10 AM, and all students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:30 AM. As we prepare for another incredible year, our school theme is "Making Memories That Last." I have a special favor to ask of our returning families. For the 1st-4th award ceremonies today, families will enter the gymnasium doors. There will be sign in sheets under the awning for you to sign in. We can't wait to see you today.

There was an error on the SBDM post, the election is Friday, May 15th. Sorry for the confusion.
On Friday, May 14th, there will be SBDM voting for our parent representatives. You may stop by the front office during school hours to cast your vote. Below are the bios for our three candidates.
We still have several spots for our Summer Stem camp. It is the week of June 15-18. Students will arrive at 8:30 am and are finished at 1:00 pm. Transportation will be offered if you need and lunch and breakfast will be provided. We will take a field trip to the zoo on the 18th as a culminating experience. All this is at no cost to the families.
